Hi! I was trying to install exu ver 2 with splinter cell ntsc. The backups worked well but when I tried to install exu, the message:

Batch process failed

The last item was : renommer fonts (translation:rename fonts)

action: rename

what can I do about that???

Before installing the exu ver2, I tried with the first version. It wrote me the same thing.

Demandes-lui de faire une mise à jour du MS Dash avec l'option Live d'un jeu récent comme Burnout 3 par exemple (inutile de se connecter au net pour cela) puis de recommencer l'implantation de l'exploit .....

Il semble avoir un très vieux Dash sans dossier Font.

Sorry it's in french. But I can tell you that it's with the xbrowser command and there is a cuty nude girl at the biggining. There is evolutionx and media center.

May be now you'll know what is my dashboard version.

The problem is has writen in the first rectangle at the biggining of the topic but I'll try to be more specific.

I have a xbox ver 1.6

It's the "hotswap with xboxhdm method xbrowser". There is a cuty nude girl at the biggining when the dashboard is loaded. There is the "evolutionx" and "media center" programs included.

With those specifications you might be able to know my dashboard version.

Then, I tried installing "exu" on my xbox with this file "UXE Installer V2 Splinter Cell Ntsc" at:

I choosed the "ntsc" file instead of the "pal" file because I check it and I have the NTSC splinter cell game.

I followed the readme file that came with the "UXE Installer V2 Splinter Cell Ntsc" file (this readme file is available at the end of this answer for those interested in. It came with a french name: "à lire.txt" and it's explained in french too).

It said to unzip the 2 files (containing a folder for each one) in the zipped "UXE Installer V2 Splinter Cell Ntsc" file.

I copied both folders unzipped in the "e:udata" on my xbox (I did backed up my splinter cell saved games because one of the two unzziped folders is as same as the saved games folder for the splinter cell game. The "5553000c" folder).

Then, I booted the splinter cell game and went in the save game menu as usual.

There, is a NEW linux "saved game" because I copied the 2 unzipped folders in the "e:udata" folder and one of it replaced the original splinter cell folder.

First, I backed up my xbox "c:" with the special loaded program as told in the readme file, and then, I backed up my xbox "eeprom" as writen in the readme file too (the same readme file that came with the "UXE Installer V2 Splinter Cell Ntsc" file. The "à lire.txt file).

Everything was running correctly except when I choose the third option : "install "uxe"". It starts copying files but after a second, it's writen in a new window :

Batch process failed

The last item was : renommer fonts

action: rename

****I don't know why the end of the second line is written in french but the translation is : (rename fonts) ****

My question is :

How can I resolve the problem:

so that the copying files process can go further.

Bon, mon anglais étant très scolaire et surtout .... lontain , j'espère que Dje_forever passera par là . Tu as le droit de ne conserver que la trame (les commentaires sont superflus )

D'après ce que j'ai compris, il a réussit un hotswap avec le tuto de Daviddu54 et voudrait mettre un exploit Adoubeur V2. Sauf que comme sa console est déjà modifiée, il va avoir des soucis .... (Cela plante car le directory C:\F0nts existe déjàn c'est une sécurité voulu par Adoubeur sinon sa console serait inutilisable)

Donc, voilà ce qu'il faut faire:

1) sauvegarder l'eeprom.bin sur un PC (il a réussit les backup, elle se situe dans E;\Backup\backup). d'après ce que j'ai compris, c'est fait, mais je ne sais pas s'il l'a transféré sur son PC.

2) décompresser la save Adoubeur sur le PC.

3) depuis le PC, copier fake.dar sur la console dans C:\F0nts

4) sur la console, renommer C:\Dash_original.xbe en C:\M.S.dash.xbe

5) sur le PC, renommer Unleash.xbe en XDash.xbe et le copier sur la console dans C:\Sys\

6) sur le PC, renommer install.xbe en PBL.xbe et le copier sur la console dans C:\Sys\

7) sur le PC, renommer Xbios.bin en Xbios2.bin et le copier sur la console dans C:\Sys\

8) depuis le PC, copier boot.cfg sur la console dans C:\Sys

9) sur le PC, décompresser \UDATA\21585554\000000000000\Uxe.rar.

10) (ne pas rebooter tant que le point 11 n'est pas terminé !!) Effacer sur la console (par ftp ou avec l'explorateur d'UnleashX) le répertoire C:\Fonts et xboxdash.xbe

11) transférer le contenu de Uxe.rar par ftp sur le C: de la console

12) redémarrer !

13) une fois que la console fonctionne, effacer le E:\systeme

Une solution alternative: Hdd Maker II

Mais à part le Dual boot et l'exploit sur le C:, rien de nouveau par rapport à Daviddud54 !

So I'm going to translated your answer and hope you don't mind I'm gonna had some little things so that people who're not used with working on pc, xbox and ftp can do it EXTREMELY EASELY

But remember, it's jp33 who wrote the step buy step french tutorial so that we can solve this problem

IMPORTANT

**** Don't reboot your xbox untill you're done with steps 1 to 15 ****

IMPORTANT

1. Backup the "eeprom.bin" on your PC (you'll need ftp connection to do that)

2. Unzip the "UXE Installer V2 Splinter Cell Ntsc" at:

if you want to install "exu" with another game than splinter cell, choose the right file for your needs

You will now have a folder with:

à lire.txt

part1.zip

part2.zip

3. Extract part1.zip (be aware of where you extract it so you can find it after words)

The tree will look like:

Updata (folder)

21585554 (folder)

000000000000 (folder)

4. In the 000000000000 folder, from the pc, copy "fake.dar" file in the "FOnt" folder on the xbox (You'll need a ftp connection)

(- Don't mixt up with the "font" folder. It is the "FOnt" folder with a capital O-)

5. On the xbox, rename c:\Dash_original.xbe as C:\M.S.dash.xbe (you still need a ftp connection)

6. On the pc, in the 000000000 folder, rename "Unleash.xbe" as "XDash.xbe"

7. On the xbox, make a folder named "sys" on the c: and copy the "XDsh.xbe" that you just renamed (you still need a ...)

8. From the pc, in the 00000000000 folder, rename "install.xbe" as "PBL.xbe" and copy it on the new folder "Sys" that you just created on xbox c:

9. From the pc, in the 00000000000 folder, rename "Xbios.bin" as "Xbios2.bin" and copy it in the xbox c:\Sys folder

10. From the pc, in the 000000000 folder, copy "boot.cfg" in the xbox c:\Sys folder

11. On the pc, in the 000000000 folder, unzip the "uxe.rar" file

(-Be shure to remember wher you unziped the file-)

12. You will now have a tree that looks like:

Fonts (folder)

Sys (folder)

xboxdash.xbe

13. On the xbox, erase C:\Fonts and "xboxdash.xbe" file (with "ftp" or on the xbox with the appropriate dashboard program)

**** Remember: do not reboot the xbox ****

14. From the pc, in the new "uxe" folder unziped, copy :

(in other words, copy the "uxe" folder contents extracted from the "uxe.rar" file found in the 0000000 folder, to the xbox c: )

15. You can now reboot your xbox !!!!

16. When the new dashboard is loaded, erase the E:\systeme folder on the xbox

**** If you want to boot a program like before installing "uxe", go in "paramètres" then "explorer le disque dur" and you will be able to boot "evolutionx" (for exemple) like on a pc ****

Except for Dual boot and the "exploit" on c:, nothing new for Daviddud54 !

Yes!!!!!!!!!!! It worked

but....

First of all, what I wanted to do, it was installing "Xebian 1.0.3" (linux) on my xbox to surf the web from my sofa

I did everything like written at:

(The tutorial is avalable in english)

I even checked the compatibility of dvd ,cd and cd-rw so that everything would work correctly.

I ripped some audio songs with the original xbox menu with my new blank cd-rw burned with some audio files and everything worked well. (It was a test they wrote to check if your blank dvd, cd or cd-rw was working fine with the xbox dvd reader

The problem is that, when I boot my xbox with the Xebian installation cd that I burned, it freezes at the biggining and it's written:

I bought a ps/2 mouse and keyboard adapter, but I can't write nothing and can't do nothing either with my xbox controller

So I went on mirc at:

and they told me to install "exu" to solve my problem

So I did everything, and now," exu" is on my xbox

petite précision, ce n'est pas un O (la lettre) mais un 0 (le chiffre) et donc C:\F0nts et non C:\FOnts.

Sinon, erreur 21 si on lance le MS Dash ....
