Hello! I installed a softmod on my old XBox (which wouldn't read most discs), but the problem is that it was all in French so I made some mistakes. (it said "http://gx-mod.com" on the screen if that helps) I installed using this tutorial: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/218495 I used this version of the UXE: "Auto installer for Uber Xbe Exploit that works with MechAssault hacked gamesaves. The save automatically detect your Xbox version and will give you the choice between 2 install options: * Install for XBox 1.0 to 1.5 (X2 4981 bios) * Install for XBox 1.6 (Evox M8+ bios) In the 2 cases, the save will auto install: * UXE exploit + PBL - The Metoo Edition * Unleash X (version 037_1207A) Also, the MS dashboard will be auto-patched to allow to launch UnleashX from the MS dash directly (thx to Kambiokika for his FontsPatcher). The gamesave also allows: * Take a backup of the original C-drive before any modifications. * Restore of this C-drive backup. * Save of mains Xbox parameters (eeprom.bin, bios.bin, ...) * Cache cleaning * HDD explorer * FTP acces with IP:192.168.0.7 Creator: Adoubeur Version: v MA Date Added: 2:47 PM 1/10/05 Last Download: 2:28 PM 8/23/05 Rating: 0/10 (0 votes) Downloads: 1145" I DIDN'T backup my hard drive because I couldn't read most of the options and didn't know how. The problems are: 1. I installed the version for XBox ver 1.6, when mine in fact is 1.1b. Is there some way to change this? I tried exiting to the UXE installer and reinstalling the version that ISN'T for 1.6, but I get some crazy error in French about fonts (I think) What does the version effect? I think it keeps me from ripping games from the DVD drive but I'm not sure. Is it safe to install the whole thing overtop of the current installation? Or can I manually correct the error? What is "Allow uninstall" for? Would this help? 2. Since the install is in french, the folders are too. I was able to rename my menu options (edited the code by hand before I realized you could rename options on the dash), but my folders themselves are still screwey ("Games" is "Jeaux" for example), which I think keeps XBMC from recognizing my emulators/ progs/ etc. Would it be safe to rename these or would it break a bunch of "links" internally? 3. Is there a way to edit the UXE installer menu back to english? I ask because I really like this version and am familiar with it, and would prefer to stick with it if possible..... it sucks I missed out on all those options because I was afraid to click on them.... 4. I have an F drive that doesn't really seem to exist. Is this because I installed the 1.6 version? I appreciate any help that anyone can offer. I have more questions but I forgot them.
