New releases: AFSExplorer 3.60, WEPictureDecoder 1.90 and new plug-ins

New versions of AFSExplorer (3.60) and WEPictureDecoder (1.90) can be downloaded from this website.

They include new functionality as well as support all latest formats found in PES4, WE8I and WE8LE. They also support TXS graphic format found e.g. in Grand Thieft Auto series.

You also have at your disposal two new plug-ins: "STR Editor", which allows editing STR text files; and "ADX/SPF Editor", which allows working with ADX and SPF sound files.

AFSExplorer has greatly been improved, but note it has recently received a lot of internal changes but those changes has not been extensively tested.

It's been decided to release it despite that little testing.

I hope you all help me fixing any possible bugs with your feedback. There's a dedicated thread for bug reporting at DTE-NG forum at ISSExtreme (http://www.issextreme.net/forums).

Be sure you have read documentation before reporting any bug that could simply be a misusage of the application.

Also, take note old plug-ins will not work with AFSExplorer v3.60. Former plug-ins just need to be recompiled with latest PluginSupport framework.

Site will be update soon with newest PluginSupport code as well as old plug-ins updated to work with latest AFSExplorer version.

AFSExplorer distribution also includes two filename list files (AFL) with many names for files in JTEXT.AFS and 0TEXT.AFS of WE8LE.

If you correct/update those lists or you have made one for other AFS file, please share it with us so it is included in next distribution.

* AFSExplorer (from v3.40 to v3.60):

- Added support to PES4, WE8I, WE8LE and Grand Theft Auto (TXD) graphic files.

- Added file selection before applying AFP patches.

- Added new helper function for creating AFP patches, allowing the comparison of AFS files

- Improved support to non-compliant AFS files (e.g. those missing file descriptors)

- Improved auto-detection of AFS files. Now allows auto-updating non-coherent AFS files.

- New config options: association of .AFS extension, stretching of images when previewing graphics, and advanced extension detection

- Intelligent re-arranging of AFS file when inserting a file and there is unused space in other files in the AFS. This avoids regenerating AFS files. (Note: support for multi-AFS files is still not implemented, you are warned )

- Added BF v2 encryption support to ZLIBManager.

- Sound player now allows playing external sound files.

- Supported multi-selection of files for exporting

- Enter key now acts as a double-click in the file list.

- Re-arranged file context menu: added "Open file with...." prompt support (F11 key)

- And many more little fixes...

* WEPictureDecoder (from v1.80 to v1.90):

- Added support to PES4, WE8I, WE8LE and Grand Theft Auto (TXD) graphic files.

- Added auto-resizing of BMP images when importing.

- Improved file-decreasing function.

- Fixed support to some formats (e.g. FLG and FNT)

- Added new configuration options to control windows behaviour.

- Added id edition of TXS files.
