New Team Xecuter RGX Install Files, Guides & FAQ

INFO

This doc is not yet complete i'm still fixing up a

few files so don't take it as complete yet - but i'm giving you the

chance to at least take a look in the meantime. if you feel you have

anything to add or any corrections need to be made feel free to let me

know in this thread.

All questions are answered at the bottom of this post. Please feel free

to post your questions below and I will compile an FAQ of sorts so that

everyone's questions can be answered all in one place

First of all apologies for taking so long to get this ready for you. It

should have been out last week but I had some family stuff going on and I

didn't want any of the other staff members to do it - I wanted to do it

myself for a change smile.gif Anyway..........

We are happy to announce the release of a new set of RGX XSVF Timing

files along with tuning options which have been taken from the code of

the CR3 Pro along with added DemoN CR_EN Support. feedback from testers

has so far been phenomenal. many had Trinity's and Corona's that simply

wouldn't boot with the old 64 based RGH2 methods or were very stubborn

and now they boot in 1-5 glitch cycles every time. Some of them reported

times equivalent to the CR3 Pro Perfect! score (cycles that would

usually look something like this 1,1,1,2,1,2,1).

So if you have a DGX (or if you don't you can buy one now as we released

bunch of new stock this week), then you convert it to be almost as high

performing as the fastest glitch chip in the world - the CR3 Pro. Some

installed and got instant results, others had to do a fair bit of tuning

- but EVERYONE ended up with great results. We have compiled a

comprehensive guide for you to follow so you can get the most out of

your DGX-RGX conversion.

Tools Required:

DGX v1.0s or DGX v1.1s

JR Programmer (any version - requires latest fw update) or NAND-X

Optional: Ceramic Caps for Tuning (10pf, 22pf, 30pf, 47pf, 68pf, 82pf, 100pf)

Optional: POST QSB (Trinity & Corona v1, v2)

Optional: POSTFIX Adapter (Corona v3, v4)

Software Required:

J-Runner v0.2 Beta Build 288 Core Pack (The new XSVF files and latest JR programmer fw is included in this release) - Download Here

Wire Info:

POST_OUT: Recommend length is 12cm. We also recommend you use 24awg.

CPU_RST: Recommended length is 10cm. The DGX v1.1s includes an IPEX u.FL Double Shielded Cable.

Note: For CPU_RST it is high recommended that you use the POST QSB (For

Trinity and Corona v1 and v2). It is much easier to tune the shape of

the wave with just one wire length.

DIPS Info:

The DIP switches are not used in any way once you have converted your

DGX to an RGX. Some users say that they get better results with all DIPS

ON. I personally think this is nonsense as I know how the code and

hardware is design and none of the DIPS are even touched - but it

doesn't hurt for you to try it smile.gif

Programming the DGX:

First make sure your JR Programmer has the latest firmware (Select

Tools > Update JR-P fw). If you have a DGX v1.1s, there is no JTAG

pin header, you will need to wire up your JTAG cable directly to the

JTAG solder points on the PCB. They are clearly labelled in the diagram

below.

You can use a Xilinx LPT cable or a JR Programmer (with latest firmware)

to program the DGX with an XSVF timing file. (You can also use the

Xecuter DemoN or NAND-X if you wish).

INFO

NAND-X can program the DGX

using the latest J-Runner software, but the JR Programmer offers an

extra layer of protection so that people get warned when flashing a

protected chip. This was added so help warn people if they try to

program the CR3 Pro by mistake. This extra feature is not, and will not

be available on the NAND-X

Load up the latest J-Runner and click the "Flash CoolRunner" button.

You will now see a list of timing options for the RGX. Each of these use

the same computations as the CR3 Pro. The settings are dynamite and

couple with the speed of the upgraded Xilinx IC and specifically

manufactured crystal, the speed settings are so accurate that, apart

from the CR3 Pro itself, the RGX will beat any RGH mod out there when

setup correctly.

There are 3 timing options for the Corona and 4 for the Trinity. Each

setting can be fine tuned with a specific ceramic capacitor - just like

the CR3 Pro, to give maximum results on the hardest to glitch console.

TIP

As with the CR3 Pro, the aim is to first find your

"center" i.e. your best timing results before you do any tuning. Feel

free to read other members' experiences in the CR3 Pro forums.

Tuning and setup is very much the same - although with a CR3 Pro you

get Full Post and Rater so you can actually see your error codes and

timings so its much much easier and faster to tune, however those tools

cost a lot more to buy so if you want CR3 Pro performance on a budget

then RGX is the way to go.

The following ceramic caps can be used. Do not use an incorrect value

than what is stated or you will damage your DGX hardware. Remember to

cut those ceramic cap pins short !

Corona A (Cor_A) - 10pf, 22pf, 30pf or 47pf

Corona B (Cor_ B) - 68pf, 82pf or 100pf

Corona C (Cor_C) - 10pf, 22pf, 30pf or 47pf

Trinity A (Trin_A) - 10pf, 22pf, 30pf or 47pf

Trinity B (Trin_ B) - 10pf, 22pf, 30pf or 47pf

Trinity C (Trin_C) - 10pf, 22pf, 30pf or 47pf

Trinity D (Trin_D) - 68pf, 82pf or 100pf

Here are the cap solder points for each DGX. Only one cap at a time can

be used - do not use a combination of caps. Do not use the wrong value

cap on a timing file (i.e. Trin_A cannot accept 68pf, 82pf or 100pf -

see above chart). make sure you trim down the legs of the cap when

soldering to the PCB.

DemoN Support:

As promised we have added Demon CR_EN support to the RGX (The DemoN is

now able to control the RGX in much the same way as a normal CoolRunner.

It can enable and disable with just 1 extra wire which is PIN 50 of the

Xilinx IC - see diagram below).

WARNING

Remember, before you do anything to your Xbox 360 to make sure you have a full backup of your NAND and keep it in a safe place.

Questions:

Please post your questions below and I will compile an FAQ of sorts so

that everyone's questions can be answered all in one place. I will start

with a couple that I noticed earlier today.

Q: Does the RGX hardware work on Phats?

A: The DGX hardware was designed to work on Slims only. This was not a

software limitation but by hardware design. Therefore the RGX is for

slims only.

Q: Will there be an RGX for Phats?

A: We have developed a brand new exploit for Phats which we will be

releasing shortly. There will be no need for an RGX, or a CoolRunner or

any other RGH1 or RGH2 device on phats. It's a new exploit using new

hardware. It's quite old school you'll love it smile.gif

Q: What are the RGX ECC's i'm confused?

A: That's probably a mistake on our part as we weren't too clear. The

ECC's are to be used to recover key's by using normal RGH hardware -

RGX hardware is not required (It can be used on slims just like the CR3

Pro of course but it's not necessary to recover your CPU Key if you have

a dashboard later than 14719). Originally this could only be done with a

specially timed 'Double Glitch' - hence the name DGX (Double Glitch

Xbox). But once the leaked bootloader was out in the wild a double

glitch was no longer required hence the change of name to RGX (Regular

Glitch Xbox). The ECC's and the RGX Hardware are two different entities -

they just happen to be in a related area.

Q: Can I program my RGX back to DGX?

A: No we will not be releasing the code for DGX. if you need the

functions of the DGX then use any RGH device with the RGX ECC's.

Q: Can I program my CR3 Pro with the RGX Timing files?

A: No. You will kill your CR3 Pro. Why would anyone want to do that anyway ?

Q: How much better is the RGX than a normal CoolRunner rev C or CR3 Lite or any normal 64 based glitch chip?

A: The RGX, when setup and tuned correctly, smokes the times on any of

those. We've had many users reporting that they had boxes that wouldn't

even glitch before or wouldn't glitch faster than 30-60 seconds and with

an RGX they were booting up in 1-5 glitch cycles. If that's not fast

enough for you get a CR3 Pro you'll be booting up previously impossible

to boot consoles in 1-3 glitch cycles MAX wink.gif

Q: I can't get the RGX to work at all

A: We have put many hundreds of test hours into this along with dozens

of professional modders and testers feedback and they have ALL had

fantastic results on ALL of their consoles. I can only say you should

follow the instructions and keep at it. Personally I can't get it NOT to

work.

Q: Should I use 70cm POST wire length on Trinity as I saw DGX users had success with that.

A: No - remember once programmed this hardware is not DGX. It is RGX - totally different in the way it works.

Donc le nouveau hack FAT de la team xecuter ne serait pas du RGH mais carrément un autre système mais utilisera toutefois un hardware particulier développé par la TX
